The company stops at the elf hideaway of Rivendell. There, they show Elrond the map they have of the Lonely Mountain. Elrond translates the ancient language on the map: "Stand by the grey stone when the thrush knocks and the setting sun with the last light of Durin's Day will shine upon the key-hole." With this new information, the company sets off again to get to the Lonely Mountain before Durin's Day, a dwarven holiday.
