Wood Elves

Lost in Mirkwood, the dwarves are found by the native people of the forest, wood elves.

Captured

The company has strayed from the path through the forest and are wandering lost. Suddenly, wood elves appear from the forest around them and take them prisoner. Bilbo puts on his magic ring and slips away as the dwarves are taken to the elf stronghold deep in the forest. The dwarves are thrown into the elves' dungeons deep below their castle.

Escape

Bilbo steals a key from a sleeping elf and breaks the dwarves out of their cells. They run to the wine cellar where there are enormous barrels of wine. The elves find the dwarves' empty cells and sound the alarm. As the elves approach, the dwarves follow Bilbo's lead and jump in the barrels and float down the river through Mirkwood, going quickly towards the Lonely Mountain.
